Dialectica is a DBT diary card and skill-support companion app. It is not therapy, not a clinical service, not a crisis line, and not a medical device. It is intended for use by people currently enrolled in or supported by a DBT program, as a personal tracking and follow-through tool.
Dialectica collects only the information you enter directly: diary card entries (emotions, targets, skills used, notes), your profile (name, treatment details), therapy appointment schedules, and app preferences. We also collect your email address for account authentication.
Your data is used solely to power the features of the app — displaying your diary cards, generating session summaries, and supporting your DBT follow-through. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for marketing.
During this first pilot, your diary data is not automatically shared with your therapist or any third party. Any export or share action is fully user-controlled. You choose what to export and when.
Research participation is not active during this first pilot. No data is used for research purposes at this time.
AI-generated session briefs are disabled for this pilot. Session preparation summaries are based solely on your own logged diary card data and are not interpreted or analyzed by AI.
Data is stored on the Base44 platform. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access. We do not have independent verification of all of Base44's infrastructure security practices. If you have questions about data storage security, contact the pilot organizer.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Dialectica is a personal tracking tool only. It does not provide clinical assessments, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or therapy. Always follow the guidance of your therapist, DBT team, or treatment provider.
If you have questions about this policy, contact the app administrator through your DBT program.
